Field trip: Auckland Botanic Gardens

If you can't make it to the field trip please do these images in your own time in preparation for class on Monday the 22nd


CAMERA SETTINGS:


Shutter

·      Take an image that utilizes a slow shutter speed to create an image with isolated blurring, remember you will need a tripod.
·      Take an image that utilizes a fast shutter speed to freeze a movement in mid action.

Aperture

·      Take an image that utilizes a deep DOF.
·      Take an image that utilizes a shallow DOF.

Vantage point, fore/mid/background.

·      Take 3 images of an object from 3 different vantage points.
·      Take 3 images, one with action in the foreground, one with action in the mid-ground and one with action in the background.

Composition.

·      Take an image that utilizes the rule of thirds.
·      Take an image that utilizes a tight crop

Line and pattern.

·      Take an image that creates a visual diagonal line through the image.
·      Take an image that utilizes horizontal and vertical lines.
·      Take an image that utilizes pattern.

Texture and positive/negative space.

·      Take an image with contrasting texture juxtaposed within the frame.
·      Take an image that balances positive and negative space.
·      Take an image that has a large negative space in relation to the subject.
