Research

When you start researching a topic it is like fishing with a net. Throw it wide and far; collecting as many different references from as many different sources as you can.
For example use books, talanoa, the internet, film, T.V, kanohi ki te kanohi, games, kai, galleries, marae, artists, dance, hīkoi, your community and try to be open to other knowledge traditions such as tikanga Māori.

Once you start to know your topic you can hone in and concentrate on references that are more specific, you are more like a hunter now.

Manaakitanga

Attendance and being on time: class starts at 10:00am

Protocol: Respecting our kaupapa and contributing to class in a meaningful manner, for example you may want to do the class karakia

Communication: kanohi ki te kanohi, email, text, phone, Facebook message, all within a timely manner. (9:00am-5:00pm Monday to Friday)

Participation: participate in class activities and self directed activities, for example listen when listening is needed and talking when talking is needed.

Support and encouragement: communicating on each other's Blogger, following each other, sharing your time, skills, and knowledge. (Remember to document so that there is evidence for assessment.)

Collaboration: evidence is seeing it happen in class and out of class, needs to be documented when it happens out of class for your Blogger; photo, video, written, etc.

Kaitiaki: Facilities and equipment: cleaning your desk, computer, room and looking after the equipment, for example returning equipment on time and in good condition.

Hospitality: looking after one another, field trips to galleries, car pooling,  group workshops, BBQ's, parties, etc.
