THE AWARD

The New Zealand Affordable Art Trust (NZAAT), a not for profit, seeks to recognise and support creative excellence from emerging New Zealand artists.

The NZAAT Emerging Artist Award is a significant feature of the NZ Art Show and presents the opportunity to recognise the talents and commitment of four emerging artists currently undertaking tertiary studies towards a fine arts qualification. Its key aspects are as follows:

1. Four cash prizes of $2,500 available for each selected recipient
2. Offered to all tertiary fine arts schools in New Zealand that offer degree and/or diploma programmes
3. Offered to fine arts students who display a level of commitment to their discipline by studying for 2 years or more
4. All disciplines are accepted including original painting, sculpture, video, drawing, and photography
